The dull throb of pain in her lower back, the culprit of all of this suffering, throbbed in time with her pulse, reminded her that it was still here, angry as ever. She tentatively moved her feet, curled her toes and felt the low lick of pain run across the length of her legs.

The author lived in the deep southern small town majority of their life so I mean business but I haven’t followed the religious teachings of Christ in quite a few years and I don’t follow catholic teachings at all, forgive me if I’m inaccurate, correct me if I’m wrong. Plenty of smut to make up for it of course.

Our intrepid protagonist is a lonely girl with no prospects but her gigantic muscles and willingness to love and serve, and the object of her affections (eventually)? A beast, hidden away from the world in the dark, with powers beyond compare that, unfortunately, can never make her accept herself. Or give her the drive to change, for in this form is reflected who she truly is. This is what she deserves.
Or is it? We readers know the answer without even opening the first page, and yet we find joy in watching them come to the same conclusion in their own way, again and again and again, along a path predetermined. -
