Summary
Synthetics are part of everyday life, with Hale Robotics leading the industry in synthetics for everyday living, companions, and police force standard MX combat models.
Stiles is a DRN; his programming is built around Synthetic Souls.
The aim of synthetic souls was to mimic the soul of a human being, allowing a synthetic android to experience feelings & emotions and to form emotional attachments or empathetic bonds.
DRNs have been out of use for decades because they were too lifelike for their human counterparts.
Derek Hale, heir to Hale Robotics, finds Stiles in his junkyard, where he's been a mechanic for the last 24 years. The last thing he expected was the android to be functional, much less it being a Hale DRN, which is the last project his mother had been working on before the fire. And Stiles was unlike any other DRN that Derek had ever seen before… he was so human and lifelike that Derek hated him for it.

Summary
Detective Daniel Sousa is used to working with lifelike, human-looking androids. But he wasn't prepared for his new android partner turning out to be not a polite, compliant robot, but an angry, sarcastic, bitter person. (Technically this is a fusion with the show Almost Human, but no knowledge of it is required; this is really more like generic near-future police-state dystopia with robots.)

He was neither stupid nor delusional. ‘Not crazier than him or Tony’ still meant pretty fucking messed up, but at least he went to his bullshit fucking therapy.Or: After a mission gone horribly wrong, Detective Bucky Barnes is asked to come back to continue to hunt down HYDRA, the criminal organisation responsible for his dead partner, a bout of coma and a lost limb. The mandatory android partner he gets assigned will be nothing but trouble, he is certain. After all, androids cannot feel, so there is no possibility of forming a connection - right?

Summary
It is the year 2048, and crime rates on Earth have spiked over 400% worldwide. Police departments find themselves overstretched with limited resources, so they sought to correct this by implementing robots as key parts of their department staff. Each officer is paired with one. Detective Takashi Shirogane has a reason to hate these robotic cops, after an incident which left his former partner, Detective Matt Holt, and Shiro in a 17 month long coma, along with a cybernetic hand. As he tries to get back on his feet following the incident, going back to work, he is paired with a robotic partner, model number LNC, a robot made to be as human as possible, complete with emotions. Will Shiro be able to get along with his new partner, or is his troubled history going to get him killed this time around?
