Summary
Remus and Roman Garcia are twins and have always been inseparable. They've also always been polar opposites, but not even that could stop them from doing anything and everything together. From the stage to the school courtyard, they ruled them both as some of the most popular kids in school. They were two peas in a pod the two of them. Best friends, and brothers, forever.
Then Remus died.
Everyone thinks he's gone. Roman knows his bother hasn't left his side since dying, he's still there, with him. Roman can literally see his dead brother's ghost.
Six months after his death, Roman's family moves away to a new town far away from home.
There Roman meets Patton Baker and Logan Austin who, just like him, can see ghosts. And with these two other students, come two other ghosts known as Anxiety and Deceit. Slowly, Roman warms up to them and they become close friends. Two of them have even wormed their way into his heart and Roman doubts they'll ever leave.
Just as Roman's finally begin to settle in and accept things though, strange things begin to happen to their new ghost friends. And they discover that maybe, just maybe, there's a way to bring them back.

Patton grins sheepishly, hands covered by oven mitts and holding yet another batch of chocolate chip cookies on a baking tray, “Morning, kiddo! I was feeling antsy last night, couldn't sleep, so—yeah! Baking seemed like a good idea!”
Logan stares at him for a moment before sighing, ignoring the small smile gracing his lips, “Patton, you're a ghost. You guys don't need sleep.”

“Morning, Virge!” he yells over his shoulder, having seen Virgil sitting on the counter, hands curled around a gifted mug engraved with #1 murder story victim along the side.He doesn't see it—his back is currently to the ghost, after all—but he can sense the way Virgil rolls his mirth-filled eyes with a put-upon huff.
“Morning, you idiot.”

It seemed normal enough, even if his new human was very loud, and liked to talk to themself. He didn’t mind. There was more than enough supplies here. So, in that spur of recklessness and the wake of his cousin’s death, Roman decides to try and summon his spirit and then release him into the afterlife. What could go wrong?
Turns out, basically everything.
So now, Roman is stuck with the spirit of his newly-murdered classmate, forced to keep him around until the spirit is sure his friends are safe while also trying to find his cousin’s spirit.
But, as time passes, the two become closer. And the closer they get, the harder it becomes to think about letting the other go.

The ghosts of the house were restless.
Patton couldn’t stop opening and closing the cupboards, trying to find something to cook before being reminded, again, by Logan that he can’t.
Logan was watching Roman, who was pacing back and forth across the living room floor, phantom creaks echoing as he hit squeaky flooring.
Janus was pulling at his gloves, caught in a loop of straightening his clothes, fixing his bow tie, tugging at his gloves, buttoning and unbuttoning his dark jacket.
Remus was cartwheeling through the air, the poltergeist more subdued than normal, though he buzzed with a frantic energy, whatever room he entered dropping ten degrees, dread radiating off him, though not from him.
Something was wrong, something was wrong, something was wrong!
Everyone froze at the door slamming open, then shut, the only living resident of the house arriving home.
And not in a good state, either. His shoulders were hunched, his breath seizing and gasping, tears flooding down his face as he crumpled on the couch, a ball of darkness in his purple patched hoodie.
