"I don't know." Bucky shrugged. "I guess they weren't able to recognize it and didn't connect it to what Zola was doing in Azzano. After all, Erskine was already dead and the research was on hold."
That made sense. But Sam felt like he needed to talk to Steve right now.
"But the Howlies knew what they were doing to you in Azzano."***
Bucky walked over to Sam, placing a plastic-wrapped box on the coffee table. “I brought you Tom’s donuts ,” he announced.

Summary
Seven months. It's been seven months since Splinter made Leonardo the new leader. It's been seven months of progressively worse arguing and now it's constant. Michelangelo's effectively moved in with Baron Draxum three weeks ago at Donnie's insistence and Splinter is always somewhere the conflict isn’t.
Donatello spends most of his time in his lab, leaving at night for some fresh air and to deal with old enemies. Someone has to, after all, and with two specific turtles refusing to leave the lair, it might as well be him.
However, one specific enemy might be growing into something more than he can handle on his own.
It’s on one of his escapes from the lair, however, that starts a whole strange chain of events. A chain of events where he finds himself very much unwillingly and begrudgingly not on his own, anymore. All thanks to a tripped motion sensor and Hypno-Potamus and Warren Stone.
Donatello's never helping anyone out of the sewer again.

“Sil…” his voice wavered, his knuckles hadn’t healed, fresh wounds bleeding down the back of his hand. The cut along his forearm wrapped up in a weak bandage, for a moment, Silco thought that things had gone differently he would have made sure Vander was looked after. But if things were different, none of those wounds would exist.
“Just because you’re shit with your words doesn’t excuse anything that you have done,” Silco ignored him, “You are a fucking traitor,” he said in a low voice, “And most of all, you are fucking dead to me,”

The Thunderbolts will be there soon, he just needs to stay alive until they get there. At least he has Sam to comfort him.

Niragi shoves Chishiya against the wall with a snarl. “ You’re a fucking liar, Chishiya. Acting like you don’t wander around old game sites and construction zones like a damn ghost. You can’t let go of it either. You act like you let go and moved on but you can’t. “ It’s so quick that Niragi almost doesn’t see it, but he catches a glimpse of raw, unpolished shock in Chishiya’s eyes before the man crushes it again. His lips twist into an ugly, sadistic smile.
All at once Chishiya suddenly struggles against him with surprising vigor and Niragi has to apply more pressure to keep him pinned against the wall. He shoves a hand into Chishiya's pocket, trying to grab whatever it is that Chishiya’s after. What he feels is something smooth against his fingertips and there’s nails biting into his flesh but he still manages to wrestle away the object.
A little blue lighter sits in the palm of his hand like a sick joke.
