Lance and Hunk have been good friends for years now, but as expected, Lance is getting a bit sick of third-wheeling whenever Hunk and Shay decide to take him out. One particular night, Lance turns to drinking to cope with his ever frustrating loneliness. It's only when a certain strict bar manager steps out to deal with Lance's drunk disruptions, does the single man realize he may have met a worthy adversary.
Things take a turn though, when the hungover 28-year-old realizes just who has moved into the apartment next door..
How will the two deal with sharing a wall after being at each other's throats just the night before? Is it possible the two can find a way to bury the hatchet, or will their stubbornness prevail? Or better yet.. could this conflict only be masking some stronger feelings bubbling beneath the surface?

They throw back their spirits at the same time, and Keith watches as Shiro winces at the burn, crinkling his nose.
"God, that's awful."
Perhaps the shot burns away the last of Keith's fear or rationality, because he leans forward over the bar to close his hand over Shiro's wrist, and with all the casual air in the world says, "Bet it would taste better on me."
Keith takes a green wristband at the bar in the hopes he'll take the bartender home.

Shiro’s had a crush on the piano player for the gay bar he co-owns with his best friend ever since he hired him. Apparently, he’s not the only one - he’s pretty sure Keith’s arrival has doubled the popularity of the bar, and Keith doesn’t even have a clue.
Every night, Shiro watches lines of men come up to the piano to flirt with Keith, and it only barely soothes his longing heart that Keith always turns them down.
Or, Shiro and Keith are both oblivious, but they manage to figure it out anyway.

“Happy birthday to me.” He groans into his empty cup, contemplating another drink to help drown his sorrows at being out alone on his birthday. A glass appears in front of him, the cool liquid inside bubbling up his nose as he drunkenly peers closer at it.
“You look like you need something other than alcohol.” Frowning Lance looks up at the voice, unsteady eyes settling on the kind face of the bartender. He's tall, with muscles on top of muscles under a crisp black button-down shirt, the sleeves rolled up showing off a robotic sleeve tattoo taking up his right arm. His hair is solid white, practically glowing in the overhead lights of the bar, and cut short to the sides of his head, but longer on the top, slicked back in a manner that screams authority. “Maybe even a friend?”

Moving to Altea is not for the faint of heart. Lance knew going into this that the cost of living would be higher than it was in Arizona. On top of that, even with his scholarship, graduate tuition at University of Altea is still no joke. Since he’s burning through what cash he had saved up (at $1050 a month, his studio apartment is a steal, but first and last month’s rent, security deposit, application AND broker’s fee will still make a dent), a service industry job was the logical solution.
Hopefully nothing at the workplace becomes a distraction...
