“Kept it safe for you,” she informs him, proud and fond in equal measure. The bow of her mouth is pursed in concentration, lethal focus underscoring every motion as she readjusts the brim one final time before sinking to the flat of her feet, temptation swaying back out of reach.
And if he sways after her, well, that’s his business and no one else’s.

~ Bob has super hearing (according to comics, he can hear a fly sneeze in Central Africa), and Yelena finds out he is specially attuned to her voice, so when she tries to plan a surprise birthday party for him, she tries not to talk because he always recognizes her voice, so she texts about it to the rest of the team.
Bob gets sad because he thinks they are ignoring him or talking bad about him, just to come up to a cute birthday party and so much love. ~

He was right. She looked from her father’s desperate face to Giles’s triumphant smirk, and then to Bob’s resigned features. Trapped. Bound. To the very man who had once broken her heart, and who now, by the cruel twist of fate, held the key to her future.
