Summary
This was not the life Aragorn wanted. To settle down, his ranger days behind him and never to come back, trapped in his father's farm... he could not think of a life more unfit for himself.
If this was not tragic enough, his loneliness and his apathy seem to attract everyone in town... everyone but Legolas, the baker's son, who appears to be polite enough to mind his own business but sufficiently charming for Aragorn to tolerate him.
After Legolas befriends Brego, Aragorn's horse, the beginning of a new friendship shakes Aragorn's plans of being miserable and alone for the rest of his life, and he can't seem to get enough of Legolas' presence.
Because that is what all friends feel for each other... right? -

3rd May 3002 T.A. 23 year-old Boromir passes through Edoras while on an errand for his father. There he meets for the first time Prince Théodred of Rohan, also 23, a friendly but guarded young man who is instantly smitten with his Númenórean good looks, and who also possesses the most enchanting pair of eyes Boromir has ever seen.
25th-26th February 3019 T.A. Two star-crossed sons of Men who endured separation in life, are finally joined in eternal rest on opposite borders of the Kingdom of Rohan.
This is primarily a love story spanning 17 years, but it's also a tale of personal growth, brotherhood, hope and despair experienced by two heirs of their respective kingdoms, as they navigate through young adulthood and the pressures put upon them in a time of encroaching war. Primarily Boromir/Théodred, but some minor (likely one-sided) Boromir/Éomer may come in later.

::Post ROTK:: When Aragorn and Gimli track down slave traders, they are horrified to see that Legolas has been captured and his body is being sold. It is now up to friends to help him cope, but can they keep Legolas from fading? Rated for rape (*mostly* implied) and the heavy emotional toll it takes on Legolas. Mainly emotional Hurt/Comfort story. No slash.
**NOTE** I am rewriting this story with the hopes to post new chapters and finish this. I won't repost it entirely as a new work, but will just update the chapters that I currently have. If you have read this previously and notice things going a tad differently or perhaps sections missing/added, that is why.
As of 2/26/24, Chapters 1-13 are rewritten, with additional edits to Chapter 5.
