Summary
I have many thousands of words that are just sitting on my computer, so I figured I'd post some of them!
Newest addition: George is aromantic. Dream is hopelessly in love with him. This was always going to end messily. . .right?
Dream faintly scoffs, the corner of his mouth curving upwards. "Remember how that one nurse thought we were dating?"
George forces out a laugh, wishing he'd had the foresight to predict Dream would bring that up the moment he mentioned that story. He's willing to bet he sounds slightly hysterical, his laugh sounding too shrill in his own ears. "Yeah, that was- that was wild."
"I mean, not too wild," Dream argues, his voice falsely casual. George knows he's probably one of the few people in the world who can recognize that. "It- you know, I mean it- it makes sense."
The rain begins to fall harder, drumming against the roof of the car, but it's not loud enough to drown out the rest of Dream's words or the thundering pulse of George's heartbeat.

That was until he heard banging outside, like something was moving around in the metal trash bins that were in the alley outside his window. Checking out the trash cans, he struggled to open the lid to see what was making the noise, again- expecting to find and shoo away some raccoons.
Instead, there he found a cat.
OR
Sheltered human Dream lives in a city with a bunch of other races, yet doesn't question when things start to go missing as soon as he adopts a new cat. That 'cat' shows his appreciation a few months later.

Sapnap grabs a toy and bats it in the new cat's direction. The toy rolls and bumps against the new cat's paws and he quickly bats the toy back to Sapnap.

"It doesn't work like that, idiot", Dream chuckles, flicking his hat up in an attempt to lighten the mood. He feels relieved that there's a definite answer to George's behaviour. "I saw one of the websites say that it happens like when there's a trigger object. I don't think anything bad happened", he explains.

Despite everything, George had always been a little bit afraid that there wouldn’t be a place for her in Florida.
When she finally voiced this concern to Dream, she just leaned her desk chair back with a creak and pointed out that Patches lived with them. And George knew that Patches was the happiest cat in the world. George, in return, had pointed out that living with a pet cat is a bit different than living with your catgirl best friend. Dream still hadn’t been receptive to her concerns, just saying that, well, it was George. They’d be able to make space for George.

George is still staring at him, his arm now hanging low, as he can’t be bothered to hold it up straight.Dream’s mind forms a plan on its own accord, and he’s speaking before he can even process the words that leave his mouth. “I’ll take George.”
“What?” “Take me where?” They both ask, at the same time.
“We’re dating.”

"Is that a chicken?" Before either of the boys can reply the creature launches itself on to Dream and rams its claws in his shirt, leaving little scratches on the poor man's chest. Dream screams like a little girl. Sapnap lets out a high pitched screech before realizing what is actually clutching onto his friend’s chest.
"Definetly not a chicken." mumbles Sapnap to himself, on his way to rescue his panicking friend from his attacker.

The cat was curled tight into the fold of Dream’s arms, the only parts of it peeking out being its petite ears. “A cat, Dream? Over our lunch?” He exclaimed, bringing his hand to his chest in feigned hurt. “Well--” Dream trailed off, not really having an answer. The cat chose this moment to sneeze, saving the poor blonde from being teased to death by Sapnap.
