Summary
Initially a series of one shots of curses based around potholes. Sub-series from chapter 18 operating on the basis of Agravaine not existing (because writing him makes me want to bathe in dettol) and Arthur actually having to think for himself.
Secrets are everywhere in Camelot, and they aren't all Merlin's. Oh What a tangled web they weave!

Summary
When Merlin was nine years old, King Uther made the order.
Knights of Camelot arrived in the dead of night and burnt his village to the ground in the name of eradicating sorcery, leaving Merlin as the sole survivor of the massacre.
Uther made a mistake in targeting Ealdor, and Merlin is hellbent on exacting revenge.
He's trained for a decade, and he's finally ready to strike.

Summary
While returning from the druid shrine, Merlin, Arthur, and Elyan are attacked by a Catha priest and Merlin is forced to use his magic, revealing his secret to his king. He leaves Camelot alone the next day, but Arthur rides after him, determined to find him and work toward understanding. He may have said there was no place for magic in Camelot, but there is a place for Merlin. And perhaps one day soon for his magic as well.
