A flash of anger crossed Megumi’s face. He had never seen this guy before, yet there was something about him—a brazen air that challenged his dominance on the scene. His jaw clenched, and for a moment, silence fell between them, a silence thick with tension, as if the whole world were holding its breath.
“Who the hell are you?” Megumi growled from a distance, over the roar of the engines and the chatter of the crowd.
Immediately, the buzz died down. All eyes turned to the newcomer, the crowd holding its breath as silence descended like a heavy curtain over the garage. Only the beating of hearts and the faint hiss of still-warm tires broke that unreal moment.
Yuuji inhaled. He suspected this guy had a huge ego, but yelling at him like that was something he would never let slide. He raised his gaze, meeting Megumi’s fury-filled eyes. With a half-smirk, a hint of defiance in his voice, he replied, “My name’s Yuuji Itadori, and I’m the one who’s going to take your throne.”
