“But I can’t stop thinking about this,” Anakin said. He shifted, the wooden seat creaking beneath him, dragging Obi-Wan’s attention back to him. He was staring at Obi-Wan through the barrier, eyes bright. Hungry. “I want him to cast everything aside and choose the love of the base, the carnal. And I would do it all if given a chance, Father.”
Obi-Wan swallowed. “I don’t believe you would,” he said quietly.
“I would.” Anakin stared at Obi-Wan, the embers quickly building into a firestorm. “Wouldn’t you?”
Squeezing on to the rosaries harder, Obi-Wan turned from the fire and stared into the darkness. The scent of the church - thick incense, crisp linen, fresh brewed coffee - lingered no more, instead replaced by the heady cardamom of Anakin’s cologne and the tinge of smoke that billowed from his breath. And the heat - it was overwhelming, burning through the screen as Anakin pressed against the wood in supplication and desperation, a question on his lips that Obi-Wan should have begged him not to ask.

Summary
The dwarven concept of Craft-Wed gives dwarves the option to master thier creative field as opposed to marriage and the expectation of starting a family. Thorin Oakenshild claims to be Craft-Wed but the truth is he only uses it to justify punishing himself and working himself to the bone to try and pull his family and people out of poverty and exile.
It has always been assumed the eldest Durin heir, who's never shown interest in a partner will take on the burdensome, self-sacrificing, craft-wed mantle of his uncle. If the young dwarf has an opinion on this matter no one has even thought to ask, nevermind give him space to find out.
So naturally, his hopeless coward of an uncle assumes Fíli couldn't possibly take issue with sharing his body heat and bedroll with the cold hobbit.
Fíli doesn't, but that's completely besides the point.

The movement seems to shake Xie Lian out of his trance, and he quickly jolts to his feet, scrambling down from the cart. Hua Cheng takes another step, and then another, realizing too late that he is running, sprinting down toward him. But he sees Xie Lian is running too, and suddenly he has folded him in his arms, pressing him tightly against his chest. Slowly, he reaches up, cradling the soft contour of the back of his head.
“Gege,” he whispers.
A telling of HuaLian’s reunion after being separated for a year at the end of the novel (when Hua Cheng died for the third time). Starts when Hua Cheng returns and is lighting lanterns on top of Mount Taicang.
