San extended her hand to Levi. It was her way of closing this conversation, of accepting what they had exchanged, even though not everything was clear yet. The man in front of her hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on the offered hand. He had never been comfortable with physical contact, especially when it was avoidable and unnecessary.However, he also knew that it symbolized a respect he didn't easily give.
It was like an instinct he couldn't suppress: their hands intertwined.The woman sensed a certain reluctance in his grip, but also, deep down, something sincere. It wasn't so much the warmth of his palm that she received, but the weight of the man behind the gesture. That touch of humanity he made an effort to conceal behind his coldness.
For his part, the sensation gave Levi an uncomfortable shiver. He suddenly felt vulnerable, as if this simple act could unravel everything he worked so hard to keep under control. He wasn't used to this, to such proximity, and yet, he couldn't help but feel a sense of...gratitude?
