Summary
Ozai and Ursa fail at killing Azulon. He kills Ozai but Ursa manages to run with her kids. The problem is that Azulon is still after her and she can’t get very far with two kids. She leaves them at an Earth Kingdom port, promising to be right back, but never returns. At the end of the day, Hakoda comes across two sleeping kids next to his boat who say their mom promised she’d come back but it’s been hours. He brings them aboard the ship to wait for her and get food and water. A few days pass and Ursa doesn’t return so Hakoda brings the kids to the South Pole.

Summary
It's not a secret that the Fire nation Prince and Princess don't get along. They've been at each others throats since they were toddlers, and it's almost always Azula that starts it. Everyone knows that Princess Azula doesn't like her brother. But maybe thats not the whole truth. The flames that sear Zuko's face in that awful Agni Kai spark a destructive anger in her heart, and suddenly she can't stand by while her father gets away with this level of cruelty.

My take on the "Azula kills Ozai" concept. -

They have a broken family. They know that.
They are unwanted by those they pledge allegiance to. They know that.
They are hated by the world around them. They know that.
They will never be allowed time to rest. They know that.
Zuzu likes to tell her that all they can strive for is survival. Lala likes to tell him that they should just burn it all down. They disagree, but then, what siblings don't have disagreements?
They're still sticking by each other, thank you oh so much. It's not as if they have anyone else, they've already proven they'd be betrayed.
But they would never betray each other. Never.
Zuzu and Lala take on the world, and all of their enemies with it.

Summary
Iroh never meant to tell Ozai about the firebending masters, Ran and Shaw. The blood sport of hunting dragons unnerved him, and he was charged by the Sun Warriors to keep their society, and the dragons, a secret. Iroh obliged.
Ozai never believed his brother really slew the final dragon. He knew a liar when he saw one, and Iroh had never mastered the art of hiding secrets from his younger brother. As a result, the Fire Lord believed a dragon still existed and was ripe for killing.
He decided he would do something about it.
Or rather, that his 13-year-old son would do something about it.
(Aka Ozai suspects the last dragon is still alive and sends Zuko to finish it off.)

Summary
His mother once told him stories of beings named angiras. Angelic beings who existed as loyal followers of Agni and dutifully watched over those with a great fire within them. More specifically, those who yielded to the great fire within them.
And Zuko was sure that if agniras were real, Mai was certainly one of them.
[Mai visits an unconscious Zuko after the infamous Agni Kai. Zuko, in a moment of groggy half-consciousness, thinks she's an angel]

Summary
(adding more tags as the story progresses)
She tells herself her mother would be here with her if she could. She says her father would be as well, if he wasn’t so busy as a son of the Firelord.
She tells herself lies, lead and heavy in her mouth, unspoken but venomous just the same. The words play on a loop in her mind and she tells herself the story of her ancestors over and over until she’s so tired she can’t think about all that could have gone wrong and sleeps.
In her dreams, her thoughts follow her. She jumps backwards off clouds with practiced ease- she’s had this dream a lot- and falls through the sky onto dragons bigger than mountains and so powerful a swipe of a wing cuts them halfway across the horizon.
For breathless moments, all she sees is blue. Blue sky and blue ocean. And then she sees it. She always does. And every time, her heart skips beats and she feels the familiar feeling of raw awe.
The Fire Nation.
“One day,” she whispers to the red dragon she rides, “I’m going to leave Hari Bulkan and see all of this.”

Summary
Zuko choked on a sob and, impossibly, Lu Ten’s ghost gripped his hand tighter.
“I’m here, baby cousin, I’m here.” Said the ghost of Lu Ten, and Zuko felt warm fingers brush gently across his scalp, carding through Zuko’s sweat-soaked hair.
“M’ sorry that you’re dead,” Zuko wept, pressing his head feverishly into the touch, “I miss you. I miss you so much.”
Featuring a still very much alive Lu Ten, the slow revival of Zuko's self esteem, and how ending a war begins at home.

Summary
She’s always been compared to their father, while Zuko notably took after their mother.
It didn’t seem to occur to anyone that she too was the daughter of Fire Lady Ursa.
She half listens to Zuko throw his tantrum to get her to leave but Azula just sighs.
Zuko was too soft-hearted—too naïve to understand what she wanted from him. It's always been easy for Zuko to garner people's affection. He had Mother's before she'd ran off and Uncle took him under his wing as if he was his own. It's stupid, and she hates him for it. Azula enjoyed watching him try to catch up to her, try to gain their father's approval like a stupid little turtle-duck.
It's only after she watches her father burn half his face does she realise she's terribly miscalculated.
