Summary
The hollow ring of metal on metal reverberated around her, the speakers still emitting that soothing, robotic hum, and Olethra opened her eyes. She stared at the controls she’d been studying her whole life, dials and switches and levers she knew like the back of her hand, in a machine her grandma had gifted specifically to her, because she loved her, because she wanted to protect her.
Because she believed in her.

Summary
It’s been years since Marya has been aboard an airborne vessel. Years since she captained a crew. Years since she still felt light as a feather with a heart full of lust for exploration.
Years since she’d seen her.
Vanellope Chapman.-<>-
Marya Junková had resigned to never seeing her old crew again. But once she stands with Daisuke and the descendent of ol' Comfrey Macleod, she is incomplete without the person who she had told herself not to reach out to: Vanellope, "Van", Chapman.

A speculative look at what goes through Marya's head when she sees Van again. Probably entirely non-canon-compliant. Ignoring Mordecestershire's appearance at the end of episode one because he was getting in the way of my yuri.

Summary
He had tried not to be offended when she asked him to look after the kid, not because it was any kind of imposition—he'd killed better people for way less—but because she felt the damn need to ask in the first place. Daisuke looked after his own, and the MacLeods were his, or more accurately he was theirs, hers, had been since she descended like an angel from the heavens, shining silver curls and a knife-sharp grin and warm wrinkles around her eyes, and whisked him away to the skies. She may not have been his wife anymore, but that didn’t really change much; he would love her until the day somebody put a bullet between his eyes.

Marya wasn't always a toymaker.
(OR: How I think Marya decided to make joy after losing her crew.)
