晨光刺破云层时，片场已然喧闹起来。Jared的助理攥着行程表，在房车外急得直跺脚，金属门被拍得咚咚作响：“Jared！快醒醒！还有半小时就要开机了！”呼喊声惊飞了屋檐下的麻雀，却迟迟等不到回应。正当助理掏出手机准备拨号时，隔壁房车的门突然从内侧推开。Jensen利落的短发还带着晨起的凌乱，浅灰色家居服松垮地挂在肩头。他抬手挡了挡刺眼的阳光，眉梢挑起一抹戏谑的笑：“别拍了，他在这儿。”
话音未落，车厢内传来窸窸窣窣的响动。Jared揉着惺忪睡眼探出头，格子毛毯还歪歪扭扭地裹在身上，发间隐约沾着房车沙发的绒毛。晨光落在他泛红的耳尖，与Jensen相视的瞬间，两人无声交换的眼神里，藏着比朝阳更炽热的温度。

His ex’s grandmother suggests that he go stay at an old family estate in Peru, New York—a hamlet of seven thousand people—and see if he'd like to have a hand in restoring it. Jared thinks this is the perfect project to distract himself with while he decides which big city to move to next. Enter Jensen, a contractor in town, confident and capable of restoring the Whitney house to its former glory. Sparks fly between Jared and Jensen, but can either of them commit to the plot or will they move onto other books entirely
