On a snowy winter night, Satoru makes a colossal mistake, and the only one he trusts enough to tell and ask for help is Suguru Geto.
“Are you alright?” Suguru asks when Satoru keeps just clinging to him, not even trying to take off his shoes and follow him all the way into the apartment.
Satoru shakes his head almost imperceptibly over his shivering.
“Are you hurt?” is his next question, and his worry has increased tenfold between those two questions. The older man nods once. It’s a short, jerky movement, stiff and unnatural, first up, then down. “Do I need to take you to the hospital?” He shakes his head and buries his face in the crook of Suguru’s neck. He doesn’t want Suguru to see him like this, but he can’t bring himself to let go of him and be alone with this, either.

It was late— late enough into the night that many would consider it morning instead. Keres had no rhyme or reason to his visits, though it was typically well past the civilized hours of the evening when he ascended the walls and slipped through the balcony doors like a ghost. He had a key, but he rarely used it; walking in through the front doors was too simple. He didn't want to be greeted upon his entrance and led through the halls like an invited guest. He chose instead to slither in and out of windows, to pick the locks himself, to forego all subtlety to Knock open doors in the middle of the night just for the sake of being an irritant. Rather quickly he discovered that the locked rooms were largely disused. Little but empty spaces left sealed and forgotten because guests would never need to see inside.
He carved out spaces of his own within the cavernous manor. Within a bright solarium which he decorated with cobalt blue glass where he could play music without interruption. Within the armory. Within the walls.
Other spaces, however, were carved out for him.
