Summary
It overwhelms Lennie, all the shouting ringing in his ears. He squeezes his eyes shut, and he quickly drops George onto the ground to clap his hands over his ears, whimpering as he spins around to face the opposite way.
He doesn’t see when Curley aims the gun at the back of his head, just as he doesn’t see him taking steady steps towards him. He doesn’t hear the gun go off, already on the floor, his eyes closing one last time, next to George like he’d always been.

Curley scoffed as Slim placed a calloused hand on his shoulder, almost having to bite back flinching or immediately shooing Slim away. ''I have not been crying,'' Curley blinked a tear from his red and puffy eyes, which he had gotten from his (not so hidden) breakdown from earlier. Yet the lie fell from his cracked lips anyway. ''My eyes are just... red from the sun, I can't stop rubbing my eyes, for God's sake.'
Stuffy certainly wasn't lying, thought Slim. It was the hottest day of the year after all, and tensions were always high in the heat of the blazing sun. With a smile, he squeezed Curley's shoulder a bit too tightly. ''Sure, Curley.''

Eren Yeager and Staz Charlie Blood, two migrant ranch workers who hop from place to place looking for a job in 1930s California during the Great Depression are down on their luck after Staz had gotten the two into a bit of pickle at their previous job that is until they find a new one at Hoe's Park ranch where they'll meet new and amazing people along with gaining some enemies but hey it's all alright because if they keep it up they can achieve their dream and get a house and then live off the fat of the land!
