My parents always bragged about their adventures.
Ever since I was a baby, I was hearing about how awesome their voyages were. Everything sounded... magical. They were living the dream. The dream that many children imagined themselves living when they read adventure books before bedtime.
A dream that I also had. And, when they come back, talking about some cool Demacian dragon egg they found... I got on my knees. I begged them, crying to take me wherever they were going next. I couldn't stand my boring, average life anymore. I wanted more. I wanted so much more. I always wanted more. Maybe that was my big mistake.
And they accepted my request. I don't know why, but it took me by surprise. I asked knowing the answer would be a no, fully expecting to be refused. It felt weird. Them accepting my request felt like it wasn't supposed to happen... but it did.
I've been writing this for a while now, but there are some... events that I didn't record. I thought they would be better to just stay as memories. Regardless, it's important to write down everything I do remember.
Before I lose myself completely.

A beaten, useless failure that had dared to crawl back to its master. A master who had willingly sent him to his death, and he had somehow managed to even disappoint in that manner. As Swain finds himself deeply traumatized and broken by his failed Ionian campaign, he returns to Noxus only to be disgraced and abandoned by those he swore loyalty to. Yet one of them still sees something within him, even if he must claim that something with brutish force.

Darius set his right foot on the first step, still conflicted but determined to proceed. He was going to demand answers from Swain and give him a chance to explain himself; it was the best he could do, not only to show respect for an old colleague, but also to allow him to finally make a decision for the good of Noxus. The soldiers greeted him with quiet nods of respect as he passed them, making him wonder if Swain and his allies were expecting him. Either way, there was nothing Darius could do about it. The only way was going forward.
