Summary
A thousand years ago the Jedi Order made a choice. They were in the midst of a collapse, buffeted by forces on every side and afraid they were seeing the end of their Order. Most of the Galaxy saw soulmarks as little more than an interesting phenomenon. Debate raged between cultures, peoples, and planets, over how to interpret them. To the Jedi the choice was simple in the midst of much greater choices they were being forced to make. Take away any Jedi's soulmark. Remove one obstacle and point of contention. To the majority of the Galaxy it didn't matter, they ignored theirs regardless.
But to Mandalorians the call of soul to soul is one of the most sacred bonds. Only one with a soulmark could be called as the Mand'alor and their other half as the Be'alor. Any who swore the oaths of a Mandalorian would know who these beings were. It was a call of soul to soul.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was born with a soulmark. Taken away from him as an infant, he never felt the loss until fate intervened on the planet of Mandalore.

Summary
Jango and Obi-Wan hijack a freighter and go on a galactic road trip to kill a man.

Montross is a little cleverer on Korda VI. Jango ends up tossed into the cargo hold of 'The Stryker', a slaver freighter taking him to parts unknown and well out of Montross's way. Melida/Daan, weakened by its infighting and the Young suffering catastrophic losses, are raided by opportunistic slavers, resulting in Obi-Wan captured as a prize to be sold to a 'special' client - Force sensitive slaves are, after all, valuable cargo (and there is a dark shadow in the galaxy always on the look out for forgotten, powerful Force sensitives).
By sheer luck - or maybe the Force - they're locked in cages beside each other. They plan, they escape... and the future shifts.

Summary
Din Djarin is a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter, an omega hunting in an Empire-less Galaxy, making a name for himself and bringing home his Tribe countless riches. Still, it is a tumultuous time with Civil War starting between Mandalorian sects, to which he steadfastly keeps his bucket out of, in order of providing for his struggling Tribe. He ends up sticking his nose into something a little more dangerous. He blames Paz.
Jaster Mereel, recently elected Mand'alor, is having a hell of a time raising his young son without a mate and taking on Death Watch at the same time. Oh, he's doing great, but comments from prejedice Clan Heads about his ability to do both as an alpha piss him off. He has no intention of looking for a potential mate, until one quiet Mandalorian saves him and Jango from a Death Watch ambush.
TLDR : Omega!Din saves Alpha!Jaster and Jango, and Jaster immediately falls helmet over heels. Awkward Din doesn't give him an answer to his courting proposal before he bolts. It's a good thing Mandalorians love a good chase, and Jaster is one determined (stubborn) bastard.

The innkeeper’s red-haired son was never meant to be more than a pleasant distraction. Jango had long ago given up on the idea of finding love, making a family, settling down. If Jango had ever dreamed of such things he had let those dreams go long ago; all he dreamt of now was death and cold vengeance.
But Obi-Wan had wormed his way between the cracks in Jango’s armor, wielding his soft smiles and his sharp wit and his clever eyes more efficiently than any knife. An acquaintance had become a friendship, and when that friendship deepened into something more Jango was helpless before the onslaught. Years of keeping his heart safe behind a facade of bold winks and bolder lines had been no match for Obi-Wan’s sincere charms.

Summary
Kal's words rang in his head, of how the tradition could be used against the Mand'alor and when Obi-Wan looked at Jango's empty sheath, he knew what he had to do.
Obi-Wan shot forward as quickly as he could, ducking in front of Kal to steal one of his knives and slamming into Jango’s side right as Reau made it there, sliding the knife in right before she could.
They both looked at each other, Obi-Wan’s eyes wide as he realized what he’d done.
“Obi-Wan?” Jango asked as Kal grabbed his arm to keep him upright, looking between Obi-Wan and Reau as he started to piece together what had happened.
“I’m declaring my intent,” Obi-Wan said, keeping his voice as calm as he could, “To court Mand’alor Fett. Do you accept?”
Obi-Wan Kenobi is called back to Mandalore as the True and New Mandalorians are trying to come to a truce with Death Watch trying to take hold of the planet. He hadn't expected to find himself siding with the Haat'Mando and he certainly hadn't expected to find himself entering a millennia-old courting ritual with their leader.
But like always, Obi-Wan finds that when someone needs his help, he can't seem to walk away.

A disconsolate nearly thirteen-year-old Obi-Wan Kenobi seeks solace in the Room of a Thousand Fountains after yet another rejection from a prospective master regarding his padawanship. There, he almost literally stumbles upon a skittish, confused adult tucked in his usual nook. The person is fully armoured in a rather Mandalorian style but garbed rather like a Jedi, so he assumes that they are a Jedi knight or master, newly returned from an undercover mission that didn’t go so well. So, of course, he asks them to be his Master.
He doesn’t know what a thousand-year-old tin of history he’s just opened….
