'Megumi shot up the instantly at the sound of vibrations…it wasn’t as if he was getting much sleep anyway. Yuuji was calling, and Megumi felt a burst of excitement and hopefulness. He only wanted to hear one thing from Yuuji, and when he answered the phone call, for the first time in a long while, he smiled brightly.
“Yea, I’ll be right over.”'Yuuji and Megumi find a small demon in an old, creepy hut. The demon awakens something in both boys, for better or worse.

“When did you have time to teach them that?” Megumi asked incredulously, watching as they barked as Kugisaki commanded them to ‘speak’. “You’ve barely spent time with them.”
“I’m a natural leader,” Kugisaki scoffed, sweeping her hair off her shoulder before clapping and pulling at the dog's cheeks. “Game recognizes game.”
Megumi groaned, letting himself fall back against the couch as he resigned himself to the fact that his dogs had found it easier to make friends than he did. He wanted Kugisaki to like him, they were going to be working together. And..
It would be nice to have a friend.
