Jayce and Viktor had been friends for a long time, their friendship solidified when Jayce revealed himself to be a demon, and Viktor didn't shy away.
The bond they share is tested when they're suddenly, unwittingly, transported to hell and they need to find a way back home. A way home turns out to be a lot more complicated and dangerous than they were hoping, and a lot more traumatic than they were prepared for.
But they do make it home, at the end.
