Summary
"Before humans existed there were Titans, though they were nothing like the Titans we have today. They had names, identities, distinguishable appearances, and unique abilities not unlike our shifters. These Titans gave birth to what our ancestors called Gods, who later created the human race. What if those individuals our ancestors called Gods were not truly deities but merely glorified humans? Godlike if you will, who possessed the abilities of their Titan ancestors? What if Titans are our ancestors?"

“Who is this?” he asks, torn between frustration and something like fear.
“There's a warehouse on the bank of the Anacostia river,” a voice whispers. “In exactly thirty minutes, it'll go up in flames. Coordinates to follow. Bring a large car or a van, something that can seat multiple civilians. Come alone.”
The line goes dead, and his phone buzzes a second later with a text. It's an address.

"Whadaya want me to do?"
"Just...stick around? I'm bored. I got some games I need another person to play with, and my sister's not home. And...and, y'know, if I get hungry you can run over to the kitchen to get a snack for me. Stuff like that. You'd be like...like my personal manservant or something, for the day."
Steve looks troubled.
"I'll still pay you the five bucks," Bucky says, with a cheeky grin. "Please, it's so boring being laid up."
Steve looks even more troubled; he glances at the other houses lining the street, and Bucky can tell he's calculating the likelihood that anyone else would take him up on his offer of janitorial services. A gust of wind blows by, coating Bucky's face with cold; he sees Steve shiver and, unconsciously, fold his arms across his chest.
"Goin' once, goin' twice..."
In which Steve and Bucky come from wildly different worlds, but share the same soul nonetheless.

Every expectant mother hopes for a healthy baby. She looks forward with a tender eagerness to the moment when she will hold her little one in her arms for the first time, and the joy of that glorious responsibility she and father will bear in guiding a little witch or wizard on its first steps through a magical world. Yet even at this time when surely nothing is more natural than to look forward to this marvellous adventure, the sad truth should be recognized that for some witches, it is an adventure that will never be. You may ask why you should contemplate disaster before it arrives. Perhaps you think there is no need to consider the prospect of a grief that will most likely not befall you. Nonetheless, just as we inoculate babies against diseases to which they may never be exposed, so should you ask yourself in advance what you will do should your baby be a Squib.

Summary
"Hey buddy, you can't be here," Poe says, the hair standing up on the back of his neck and his change crackling to readiness in the back of his skull. He could have sounded a little less like a pushover.
Packs aren't supposed to fight anymore, but Poe knows that the invasion of his pack's territory can't be taken lightly - and he's supposed to be on guard out here at the edge of it.
The stranger's expression turns pleading. He's breathing hard as if he'd just run all the way here from Bangor. It's a cold night out there, even for a wolf.
"I need sanctuary," he says.
For the TFA-Kink prompt: Poe's an anomaly: a human male whose shifted wolf form is female. Considered bad luck, he's destined to be alone. Then a runaway lone wolf shows up at the pack's front door. And Finn doesn't believe in any luck other than the luck you make yourself.
In which Finn is a runaway from the massive First Order pack and Poe exists on the outskirts of his much smaller pack, living by only existing, and how they each change each other as they discover the true meaning of 'pack'.Series

Then Desmond frowns as a thought occurs to him. "Wait – maybe you infect Earth with midichlorian too? You sure they are not bad?"
Eno stares at him and says nothing. Even BD-1 is silent.
Desmond gives them a wary look. "What?"
*
"No, no. Names are good. You should have names," Miles says, shaking his head and then offers him a wry smile. "Actually wondered if I should use my number. Be bit funny, really. Maybe disrespectful, though."
"… sir?"
*
Desmond hums. "Assassination is a very, very small part of it," he admits, shrugging. "And probably not even necessary here – who would we even kill? I don't know what we can do, if anything. Mostly I want to help both the Clone and the Droid Armies to defect."
There's a beat of silence after that, all three of them staring at him.
"Yeah, that's definitely treason," Twitch then mutters, shaking his head.
*
"It's not religious," the Commander says, with a faint tone of complaint.
"So you say, Commander," B1 says.
*
She stops and shakes her head. "And yet, Commander Miles is unquestionably doing the right thing," she finishes grimly.
*
"Pair a droid to a clone, huh?"
"From what I understand, and from what BD-1 has shared with me, it is generally through close contact with humans and near humans specifically, that great majority of droids gain self awareness," B1 comments. "Something about your species encourages it."
*
Unduli arches a dark brow at him. "Waking the droids and nearly dismantling the command structure was you sitting back?" she asks wryly. "Oh dear."
*
Turns out this corner of the galaxy is kind of primed for the Brotherhood. It seems almost fated...
There are people looking for a safe space to escape to – and there's no one providing.
And here's Desmond, sitting quietly on a system with 3 habitable planets and several moons, all of them vacant.

Bookmarker's Notes
This fic has stuck with me for the better part of a decade as a thoughtful, sensitive, specific treatment of the mutant cure as an allegory and an in-universe social phenomenon. It brings a hardness of science fiction to mutancy and the "cure", and it's a very good character piece for Hank McCoy.
