Summary
A royal Prince gives up on his dreams after being cursed. Packs them away into a part of himself where he won't have to look at them, where their loss won't have to hurt. He pushes them away, buries them in darkness, and tries to protect himself from the pain of remembering them. He does not give them a chance to grow.
Many years later, a boy named Will is born of those dreams, and sent out into the world with nothing but a borrowed sword, a book, and a fairy for a friend.
He is six years old.

In a world run by a power-crazed theocracy, in a city about to pop from the tension, in a hole-in-the wall dive bar, a small group of misfits plan for rebellion.
What they don't know, is that their new favorite dive bar belongs to Louis' gang, a bloodthirsty crew taking aim at the very same theocratic regime, with no plans to spare those who may get in their way. The small resistance group has no idea Louis' gang is spying on them, and not least of all, his supposed 'sweetheart,' the beautiful songstress Junah. In a move that surprises the gang, she sets her sights to befriend Hulkenberg, a hapless closeted lesbian, to 'spy' on the group's movements for Louis. Junah, who carries separate plans of her own, can't help but find herself endeared to the group as time goes on, Hulkenberg, most of all.
Though Junah and Hulkenberg are hardly the only people hiding pieces of themselves, both in Louis’ gang and Will’s. The fraying threads of their personal lives threaten to unravel the hope they carry.
Their goal? To subvert the theocracy and keep the people of Grand Trad safe. Even as tensions run high the truth in their hearts threatens to tear them, and the city, to pieces.

I've dabbled in shorter (<5k words) fics before, but this is my first long-form fic (as well as my first one with focus on romance), so constructive criticism is more than welcome!

Armed with an unshakable desire to do more for him, and countless lingering doubts, he revisits an old fascination, one he hopes will aid in the goal of bringing lasting peace. Yet, as he delves into this new project, he finds those old wounds cut deeper than he realized.
