Summary
Thor: The Dark World is full of holes in the script through which a fleet of helicarriers could pass with ease. If the portal through which Loki brought the Chitauri into New York had been as big as these plot holes, he'd be ruler of Earth right now. Characters behave in a completely illogical fashion because the plot requires it. It's like the scriptwriters had heard of people, but never actually seen one.
This is a series of unconnected, sometimes cracky ficlets pointing out the holes.
I really, really hated Thor: The Dark World. Because of that movie, I grew to really, really hate Thor, who before I had loved a lot.
If you don't want to see TDW or Thor being ripped mercilessly to shreds, don't read this.
This is just me letting off some steam. I'll be adding to these whenever I feel the need to vent about everything wrong with this movie. Brilliantly acted, beautiful to look at, morally appalling, and with the stupidest screenplay imaginable.
Also, thank you to Pluma for suggesting the title.

Summary
I guess if you want to just ignore all the movies up till now and randomly have comics Loki in the Infinity War movie instead of movie Loki, then the almost guaranteed train wreck they're brewing will be fine with you. If you wish they would stay in continuity, here's what they ought to do.

Summary
When Asgard invades Earth - led by a huge blond man in a red cape and wielding a massive warhammer - it takes six months for Tony Stark to come up with a plan to turn things around: let himself be taken prisoner, and bring the Asgardians down from the inside.
But it takes less than an hour for the plan to get away from him, thanks to the black-haired Asgardian prince who takes personal - very personal - charge of him.

Bookmarker's Notes
I’ve only read half of this and I don’t know if I’ll ever find the courage to read the rest.(Authors that seem enjoyable can disappoint a lot when they start making excuses for the mass murderer Thor or when they start blaming victims who don’t want to be the sacrificial toy of warmongers. -- and the second half seems to go deeper into family dynamics and Asgard politics, probably with opinions I may or may not agree with.)
But what seems to be for me the author’s position on Thor, Loki, Odin (from this and other works) is:
Odin, and consequently Thor who follows the same steps, are tyrants, who do what they want and commit every crime they want and everything is "legal" because they are king and king-to-be.
People love them and acclaim them because those who do not are all labeled traitors and dead at their hands.
Loki in all this is a sacrifice. Being close to Thor, he has to endure all his abuse (while many others can stay away long enough not to be his constant victim). So Loki either remains there to be abused endlessly or rebels and is labeled as criminal, evil and villain, because anyone who rebels against Thor and Odin is a criminal, no matter if his actions are legal, good, noble or heroic, or if they are crimes, but not as serious as those committed by Thor and Odin. All that matters is that he didn’t get along with the tyrants. This is a very truthful interpretation of these films. One that really realigns the universe in its axis after so many distorted gaslighting immoral interpretations that try to paint Loki as the villain cause he has done something wrong (when clearly his actions are - in a very generous interpretation - not wrost than Thor's).
The problem is that the author likes Thor and wants to justify him as someone who just has to learn.(Cause obviously killing hundreds is not enough to label him as evil. Thor is noble cause first kills someone then treats the next with "gallantry").
They take away Loki's role as someone who sees the hypocrisy. And want to put blame on him. They push the "I am envious" thing, as if it really matters when Thor put Loki's life in mortal danger for his own fun and forces him to kill hundreds in his wars (adventures?)
The fact that Thor's actions have influnced or caused Loki's actions is swept under the rug. The fact that Thor's tried to murder (or cause the death, that's the same thing!!!!) of Loki (a lot of time before any Loki's supposed attempt to his life) would never label Thor as his brother wannabe murder.
(Or as the murderer of many others who did not survive his "well thought out" plans and strategies and battles for "honor and glory")
And to "grow" Loki should accept his role of sacrifice, instead of fighting against it or running away from it (although the injustice is obvious there for everyone to see), and the judgment of Thor, and if he runs is evil. Cause his society "is made that way", and Thor will never be a villain.
As if any worth Loki has is in his loyalty to Thor instead in his intrinsic moral values and in his thirst for less hypocrisy and more justice. (The latter part is in another story, but it may be the resolution of the second part too)This is the first description of Asgard in which I really want Loki to spend the rest of his life far away (mortal and with a few years to live, exiled, bound, doesn’t matter).
In this author' stories Loki in Asgard has no chance other than to be a soldier of Thor abused and used as cannon fodder. A society where there’s no one good.
In all other fanfics I want Loki back where he belongs. With people who have a lifespan and experiences similar to his, where there's someone whose morality isn't completely hypocritical or stupid (because Loki’s morality didn't appear out of nowhere - there must be someone good). Where there should be someone who knows who would really be better as king (whether Odin wants it or not). And many others who take seriously both that he is the second in line for the throne (and a god chosen by the Norns, and with a duty to cause mischieves) and an honored warrior of Asgard who had for sure saved their lives much more times than Thor.
And Loki changing his society for the better.
Not even the damned military should agree with Thor as king, or with every dishonorable thing done by Odin. This concept that the population accepts every injustice because it's done to someone else without ever rebelling as if the next day could not happen to them instead, is not very solid in the long run (millennia!) and can last only if the population is very ignorant.
The absurd thing is that Loki never choses neither of the 2 very horrible options he has. He wants to change the structure from within by making Thor a good king.
