It was late and their quarters were bathed in the golden glow of the battery operated fairy lights and a few little tea candles trapped beneath little lucite cloches and old glasses Hook had poked holes in strewn around the cabin. This late in her pregnancy, it seemed only the soft rocking of the Jolly Roger on the water and the sound of her father's voice could settle their unborn daughter.

He wondered rather idly if the baby would be a boy or a girl; he and Yeong had both agreed that they didn’t really care whether the baby was a boy or a girl, as long as the baby was healthy and the birth didn’t cause Yeong too much pain. But once in a while, he pictured a little boy with Yeong’s chin and eyes or a baby girl looking like a miniature version of Yeong.
“Jang Uk?” His imaginings were interrupted by the sound of Yeong’s soft voice.
