Sandra felt an ice cold hand around her heart. ‘No’, she thought to herself, ‘he can’t stay; he can’t, not now, not when I am finally free. I’ve moved on, I can’t go back down that road again, I just can’t!’
But she was already on that road, and had been ever since they met. She had never left the road; she had just found a path that somehow, eventually, led her straight back to the road again. She had stumbled upon the road the day she and Daniel met, and not once, not even when they found out that they were brother and sister, did it occur to her that she should get off the road.
The road led them to sin! The road led them to scandal... But it was the only road home!
