Fletcher, the professional snoop, the blackmailer, the man who collected secrets like fine wine and uncorked them at the worst possible moments. His presence alone was a disruption, but Raymond didn’t acknowledge him. Not yet. Instead, he assessed—was Fletcher here for business or just to be a pain in his ass? His clothes were sharp but not flashy, his posture easy but alert. He wasn’t here to relax. He was working.
That should’ve been a red flag. But Fletcher, being Fletcher, turned it into an invitation.
“Now, what’s a man like you doing in a place like this?” he mused, settling in too close, voice smooth and infuriatingly smug.
Raymond gritted his teeth. He didn’t have time for Fletcher’s games—not tonight. But Fletcher wasn’t just here for him. He had his own agenda. And somehow, Raymond already knew he’d end up dragged into it, whether he liked it or not.
