Summary
During the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961, CIA field officers Alex Mason, Frank Woods, Russell Adler, and Joseph Bowman were tasked with assassinating Castro as part of a team codenamed Operation 40. Instead, they found a body double and intelligence reports speaking of a mysterious Soviet operative trying to split off from the KGB. During their escape, Mason would sacrifice himself to ensure the others could get away, falling into the hands of rogue operatives reporting to the enigmatic man that would come to be known as 'Perseus'.
Two years later, he manages escape from the Vorkuta prison camp and return to the States, only to be plagued with near constant migraines, seizures, hallucinations, blackouts, and numbers he can't stop hearing.
As tensions rise in Vietnam and his life falls apart back home, Mason is assigned to a MACV-SOG team to track down Soviet operatives and suspected collaborators of Perseus aiding the Viet Cong. He and the CIA are working to prevent the Cold War from heating up, the KGB is hunting down loose ends, and Perseus is laying the groundwork for his plans. Unbeknownst to Mason, he's become Perseus' greatest weapon against his own country. And the key to saving it.

As soon as the last riot shielder is crumbling to the ground, Case is leaping over the body as best he can with the launcher still on his back and a pistol in one hand, the Cradle singing in his veins. The Voice is silent for the first time today. He relishes in it, despite the unsettling presence of the Cradle. He leads the group indoors, not pausing to adjust for the light or smoke.
The building is burning in small patches but the smoke is getting thick. Woods crawls out from the destroyed ops room and Adler drops to his side.
“Can’t – can’t let her get away,” Woods gasps wetly, rolling over to reveal the gouge on his side.

Soulmates AU: Soulmates share a tattoo of the same pattern and in the same location.
With the creation of the taskforce focused on the investigation of Soviet activity, more importantly Perseus, Woods makes a suggestion for a soldier who he believes would lend a hand. An ex-vietnam soldier who worked as a corpsmen/medic (still figuring out terminology) and now is looking for higher opportunities. With Hudson's blessing, this comes to fruition.
There's some debate on the necessity of this decision, but Hudson needs someone to watch over these danger attracting ding-dongs.PS: I haven't written anything cohesive in a while, please bear with me as I attempt to piece together a story but somehow keep everyone in character (Open to suggestions or constructive criticism).
