Summary
The crew of the Titan arrive at an unidentified moon for first pickings of a crashed Republic Star Destroyer. There, they discover one survivor, barely clinging to life, and save him. Kix wakes up surrounded by people he doesn’t know, and suddenly he has to find a way to live in a world without his brothers, without Jesse. However, as he spends more time with the Titan’s crew and its stoic Nikto technician, he starts hoping that maybe he can have a family (and maybe he can fall in love) again.

Summary
Hera Syndulla was 14 years old and assisting in flying a relief mission when the Empire took her away from her family and sent her to an Imperial Academy as a means of controlling her family. Padawan Caleb Dume died at the age of 14 while he was running like a coward as his master was gunned down; the womanizing, bar brawling, selfish Kanan Jarrus was born only days later in a desperate act of self preservation. Sabine Wren was 10 years old when her private tutors informed the Empire that she was a prodigy and she was forced into the Imperial Academy on Mandalore. Alexsandr Kallus was born on Coruscant, the top of his class at Royal Imperial, and a promising Imperial Officer that could have had any promotion he desired; promotions that he consistently declined.
With no ties binding them except the Empire, the four find themselves thrown together as clearly reluctant crewmates in a fight against the Empire and an evil like none the galaxy has seen before.
Hera simply wanted revenge. Kanan just wanted to live. Sabine lost everything. Kallus can't come to grips with what he is.
Together, they'll have to find a reason to fight; especially when the only other option is dying.

Commander Sato turns away from the map table at their arrival. His gaze freezes on a bound Kallus.
Out of all the expressions expected to cross Sato’s face, Zeb didn’t think his chosen one would be of disappointment.
But instead of talking to any of them, he walks to face Kallus. So many questions linger in his eyes, but they are disregarded for bitterness.
“Fulcrum,” Sato says, “please tell me you have it.”
Kallus bobs his head. “I do, Commander.”
Zeb’s mind is thrown in a blender. Ezra openly gawks and Sabine blinks in disbelief at Kallus. Hera and Kanan shoot dirty looks at Sato.
Whatever they say, Zeb doesn’t hear it. His mind is stuck on the fact that Kallus, the ISB agent who has caused them grief, was a double agent for the Rebellion.
And by bringing Kallus here, they had probably done some damage.

As he steps inside, the door behind him seals shut. His gaze swipes from the open fresher to the presence on the bed.
A body shifts out of a criss-cross position. Eyes closed in meditation gleam calico: one fiery amber, the other ashen sapphire.
“I sensed your pain,” he says.

“Here,” Mon smiles, “on this base, being cared for by Shara Bey and Kes Dameron.”
Bail nods upon recognizing the names. Shara is their best pilot, and Kes is their best combat leader.
“However,” Mon states, “they cannot care for the boy full-time. There is something...unique about him. Something you are more equipped to handle.”
Bail narrows his eyes. “What?”
“Ezra Bridger is Force-sensitive,” Mon reveals.
Bail leans back in his chair and blinks once. “I see…”
“If your son is anything like his true parents,” Mon says, “he will soon require guidance. This boy also requires that guidance.”
“So,” Bail says, “you want me to shield them both from the Empire. Get them a...teacher.”
