Howard Jones spent his whole life following orders, from Operations Just Cause and Desert Storm as a member of SEAL Team Six, a CIA black bag and SAD/SOG Ground Branch operative, a CIA Treadstone/Blackbriar operative, a 3rd/4th Echelon Splinter Cell, to a Baltimore PD patrol officer, SWAT commander, and homicide detective.
Still, all of that doesn't change the fact that he needed a fresh start and decided to leave the country to find a purpose to atone for the actions that he carried out in Treadstone and Blackbriar, as well as an incident that happened when he was a cop.
But, when he rescues a former female human turned tanuki beastman named Michiru and finds himself in the beastman sanctuary Anima City, he slowly uncovers a conspiracy that will decide the fate of all beastmen while he deals with a wolf beastman named Shirou Ogami, who dislikes and distrusts him for being human.

Shenanigans and self-growth ensue in various amounts as Shirou and Michiru grow closer and learn to trust each other in their own ways, and Shirou tries to understand how to balance his own needs and wants as a person with his duty of protecting beastmen.
All while they squabble over the last bite of kalua pork. -

Summary
Mizuki is the mother of all beastmen and the daughter of the moon. She is the first beastman and has lived for millions of years. She is a fluffy dragon with feathery wings and small, ornate horns. Her older sister, the mother of humans and the daughter of the sun, murdered her one thousand years ago and imprisoned her soul in a necklace. Her trust in her sister made her weak to the attack. As she was being sealed in the necklace, she saw humans starting to kill beastmen villages. With the last of her strength, she bestowed a blessing on a dead wolf beastman. This is how the mother of beastmen died and the silver wolf was born. But the soul is something that can never be destroyed, and so Mizuki comes back and decides to help our favorite tanuki beastman.

Even the night after the incident with Alan and Nirvasyl Syndrome, everyone (including Michiru) had moved on from Shirou biting her in his Nirvasyl state, accepting that it was something he didn't have control over.
Except Shirou himself.basically shirou kinda breaks down after always being the comfort figure for everyone else and michiru has to help him get over his guilt
