When the plan was created and Team 7 was launched back in time thanks to Lee and the last bits of Kurama and the Kami they planned to go back far enough to keep the bijuu free and strong enough to fight the Sage when they had to, only that's not when they ended up and priorities changed. After all there's more than one way to shave Matatabi as Kurama used to say.

So...it's another time travel Naruto story...
Anyway...
The future sucked ass. They watched all their loved ones get horrifically murdered by a psychopathic rabbit moon witch, who then turned the world into a dried-out grape(which is a raisin if you didn't know, you heathens) by sucking all the chakra out of it. Of course, they kicked her butt into another moon(that had been fun) but the world was still fucked. So with nothing left to do and nothing left to look forward to, Team 7 (minus Kakashi -rip man, fly high!) decided to look back, as in travel back into the past.
They had trauma!
They had anger issues!
They looked like dead people!
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are going to fuck up the past so bad that the future is going to look like a paradise!

Summary
No one bothered with goodbyes or final words 'just in case'. Looks were exchanged that were impossible to decipher for anyone else but meant a million things to them, and no words need to be said. The closest they got was a countdown.
"...On three?" Naruto suggested, trying not to think about exactly what they were doing. Sakura smiled with a softness rarely ever displayed.
"On seven." She countered, and everyone sat up a little straighter at that, however silly. They nodded and counted down together, spare hands interlocking at some point, before taking their first bite.

Or; team 7 kill Kaguya while still stuck with her in one of her dimensions, and end up stranded. Faced with oblivion and only each other for company, they make the best of a bad situation. It goes about as well as you could expect. -

Minato knows at the beginning of the week that it's going to be a hellish one. Mostly because it starts with the kidnapping of one of his two remaining students, only a year after they'd lost the first one. He just doesn't realize at the time that it's not going to be a hellish week - it's going to be hell for quite a bit longer than that.
It all starts with Rin's kidnapping, and her subsequent rescue at the hands of a mysteriously appearing, monstrously strong, murderously violent woman.
