No-one was really sure what was going on with them, but the one thing they could all agree on was that no-one wanted to be the one to tell Arthur Eames was missing. So they did what any self-respecting criminal would do, they made the rookie do it. They let him walk in there, head held high, thinking he was hot shit only for Arthur to tear him apart. They probably should have given him some pointers first, like don't just blurt it out. Don't call yourself the 'new Eames' and whatever you do, don't tell him we told you. Of course he could have gone in sympathy and roses and Arthur still would have shot him. That was just who they were.

"Uh y-yeah," he stuttered, "that’s me." He raised a hand and waved, belatedly noticing the disgusted looks people gave him before he realized that the hand he had raised was currently sloppily wrapped in bloody bandages. Riiight, injured, that was still a thing.
He dropped it and clutched the arm to himself as he made his way over, but unlike the other people in the waiting room, Hot Doctor had this look on his face that was a perfect blend between amused and worried. And oh God, please don’t let him be one of those doctors who actually genuinely cared. He was already ridiculously hot and probably disgustingly smart, he couldn’t be genuinely kind either.
“Please be an asshole,” Hiro whispered as he followed the man through the halls.
Hot Doctor turned to look over his shoulder, one eyebrow raised, “Did you say something?”
“Nope, no, n-nothing!”

Getting stuck in Kaedwen in winter had never been on Jaskier's plan. It's cold, they don't appreciate his music and nobody likes their national beverage anyway. The only redeeming thing Kaedwen has is Kaer Morhen, so Jaskier does what any reasonable bard would do in this situation: he decides to charm his way into Kaer Morhen to hibernate with Geralt and the other witchers. If nothing it will be an experience no human has ever had, fuel for songs and poems for years to come, while finally teaching him a thing or two about witchers he's just dying to know.
Curiosity tended to kill the cat, but Jasker had always seen himself as more of a bird anyway.
