Morgana was not afraid of Uther, she told herself. She was not. And yet, she could barely keep the tears at bay, the tremble out of her voice, could barely breathe.
Uther had threatened Morgana twice in one day, and despite how strong and brave Morgana wants to look on the outside, in the privacy of her own chambers, she can't keep up the pretence. Gwen is there for her.

On one hand, his best friend and manservant has magic, and the girl who he considers to be his sister may also have magic, and neither one of them seem to understand the concept of subtly. On the other hand, for the first time in literally his whole life, Arthur feels like he has friends who like him for him, and not for his status as heir to the throne. All of this would be a whole lot simpler if the Great Dragon in the basement wasn't such a bloody nuisance.

An ambitious canon rewrite of Merlin season two from Arthur's POV, if he was already pretty cool with magic from the start but was still just as oblivious to Merlin as he was in the show.
