Summary
Dr. Victor Nikiforov, a distinguished professor of linguistics, is enlisted by the British armed forces to facilitate communication with extraterrestrial beings known as 'heptapods.' As he seeks to uncover the purpose behind their sudden arrival on Earth, the past begins to bleed into the present, bringing scorned lovers face-to-face once more.
