Summary
“You look awful,” Coleen croaks, her garish red lips parted in what could only be described as the mockery of a smile. It might frighten most people, but Hotch finds it endearing most of the time. Right now, it isn't anything but trouble. She's not going to let him off easy. Painfully, he shifts on the bench, his hand pressed hard against his stomach. Pushing hurts, but pushing also somehow helps. It stops the throbbing, the pulse that he's suddenly developed under his navel and keeps it nailed down to one spot.
“It's always nice to see you, too.” His voice comes through strained and he's a little gruffer than he needs to be, but pain will do that to a man. He'd barely made it out of the pool, this wasn't even the halfway point to the locker room but standing meant no going back. There was a wall, and he might need to use it, intending to gather himself and walk out with all the dignity he could salvage. Not looking good. “Rough morning.”
