Summary
In a world where mermaids and other shapeshifters are an open secret, Diluc has been attacked by a shifter. But, with the trashed scene of the crime and the victim's amnesia, finding the attacker is next to impossible.
Kaeya is on a mission the bring the attacker to justice. And, given how poorly the authorities are getting any leads, it seems that he'll have to turn to other mermaids and shifters for any kind of answers.
And then Diluc starts to get sick... -

The eternal night descended when Diluc was ten years old. With the dark came the cruel despair of hunger; of cold—Mondstadt is a region with a mild climate, and the long night devastated crops and destroyed livelihoods. There was no one who did not know suffering.
Diluc does not even remember the last time he saw the dawn. He took its immutability for granted, just as he took his Father for granted. The dawn, and Father: both were ripped from him without warning.

Cold and cruel, methodological in his subjugation; unmerciful to the plights of the poor, the hungry, and the sick.But here he is, with an expression that looks so loving and endearing despite his paranormality: a crinkle in a corner of his single eye that appears along with the dimples on his cheeks; a soft, reassuring smile that reveals the barest sliver of his fangs. A faint thrum beats against Diluc’s palms, resonating from underneath Kaeya’s skin - Kaeya’s power - surfacing from his body just as the hidden markings on his skin come into view, emitting a soft blue glow along with his single eye.

His own breath hitches, and he very carefully rests his hand on top, entranced and unable to look away from the other’s gaze. He leans down, feeling the breath of the human’s against his lips as he nears, strands of blue hair falling down over his shoulders. He can feel as the rising sun cascades it’s heat along his exposed back, over his tail that's resting comfortably between the stranger's legs.
