Chris turned his head, looking at the man beside him. His eyes were trained on the road, focused. He was absentmindedly fiddling and biting the metal rings on his lips. It was a habit Chris noticed he did when he was feeling anxious or scared. Based on the situation they were currently in; it was probably both.
Honestly, when Chris answered the call from Ricky yesterday, he wasn’t exactly expecting to go on an unwilling road trip with the other man. The world just has a funny way of messing with you like that. One moment you’re watching football on your crappy TV, and the next you’re on the run with your best friend.
Right, they were on the run from the cops. And they were way too deep into this to have any regrets. There was no turning back now.
