ahhh this was such a fun read!! the way the author captures Jacob and Richard's interactions are just lovely. i will always adore the mundane for them, because despite all the conflict and just, everything, that happens in the show, they spent literally over a century in each other's company. For me, it is the way Jacob comes to understsand Richard as someone with drive and an appreciation for that mundane-ness he probably doesn't experience with other people, and how you tied that into his relationship with religion (and therefore kind of his relationship with Jacob as a "deity")
["It is different from the others, it is like… like I finally got to know the Jesus I heard so much about from the others."]
Imo this is what then draws Jacob into spending time with Richard, weaving him things and loaning him books. pushing him not to get caught in his insecurities and self-deprication, when he spent millenia purposely *not* pushing for people to change at his word at all. to see they could break free of sin and all its corruption themselves. because the only other person who likely got know Jacob as Jacob, and not as the "deity" was his brother. and, well.. y'know. for Richard it is also coming to island and finding freedom in the ability to pursue what he wants, no longer tied down by societal pressures like money and hierarchy. he now just does simple things and gets to be who he likes, and the attention to detail here is so good! my favourite part has be him looking to shave, when he was probably denied such a thing for a while in prison/on the ship. (and Jacob feeling a little stunned when he sees him again. its such a little touch of humanity that i love.)

oh non-linear writing my beloved 🙏🙏🙏 the author does SO well at capturing that feeling of trying to resist a feeling you have, be it a thought or a memory or anything, that you just *know* will make your day worse but in the end it still consumes you. Richard is just, stuck, even despite leaving the island. he's been stuck for a long time, really, it's just that now time actually means something to him. it passes and he should be aging and changing and growing, but for over a century all he had was the island and Jacob. everything else changed but he never did, and I think he clung to that even as he started to resent it. and it's only now that he has the chance to age and change away from everything, that he loses himself in his grief. it's a funny thing like that. everything about their relationship is unfortunately tainted by the island, being a protector, deterministic fate and what it means to know that fate, the whole lot. God its making *me* wish they just got to live a happy, normal relationship!!! and being able to get sucked into Richard's grief like that *hurts*.
(I unfortunately enjoyed it.)

[And he has to take in a breath, hold it, hold on to the fierce and sudden urge press up and in, to become part of this.]
oh I ADORE when it's a Jacob pov. there's just something about how he thinks that's so fascinating. in how he desperately tries here to hold onto the image of "Jacob" and what that should mean in this moment. but in the end that fully collapses and he gives into the greed of just, being human. being Jacob the man and not "Jacob". I think it's something he tries to remove himself from, the idea of that greed, but this is new to him and he doesn't know how to quite hold it back yet. and Richard is simply a man with a lot of things he's trying to atone for, and I think it's his view of Jacob as some almost "higher" being that pushes him here. it's SO good!

god ill forever love their bittersweetness. how Richard wants for Jacob's touch to have meaning, and even though we can't see his thoughts, I imagine Jacob wants the opposite. he wants to remain seperated from Richard, so he holds his breathing and keeps his touch empty of his emotions, it's done SO well. his only admissions are through words ["You are very good to me,"] and I think even that is an indulgence for Jacob. he never mentions himself and his actions, just that Richard does well.

I love love LOVE the writing style here. it's so palpable when you read it, in how it feels like Richard's emotions are truly overwhelming him. his almost regret at becoming Immortal and never being able to return to Isabella, his loneliness amongst the people he advises, and even his loneliness around Jacob, despite how he's the only one on the island that Richard truly talks to. because even then, Jacob doesnt *tell* Richard things due to his own belief that he should be a step removed from the people on the island. this is where, despite their tumultuous relationship, the MIB is the only one to speak to Richard as a person. he explains what he thinks and what he wants, and thats why i think Richard doesnt feel his Malice. I think it's a resentment that Richard holds even despite his desperate affection for Jacob, ["I do what you tell me," .... "Richard leans into [Jacob] even in spite of himself."]. God it's so lovely how this fic captures their relationship because I think that bittersweet feeling is what they ARE. the little touches of Richard's religious guilt and (in my opinion) Jacob clinging to what he can get from Richard without taking are very nice too. he doesn't want to take richards choice away like his choice was taken from him, but in the end all that creates is a distance and a loneliness between them.

Jacob likes to touch. Richard sometimes thinks he craves it, craves the contact of human skin under his strong hands.

I really do like the idea that Jacob has grown up isolated and touch starved, because he is human too underneath everything else and touch is just a part of human nature. it's the little things like his naivety, almost, but he feels like Jacob the man, and not "Jacob" the protector, yknow?
["I can?" Like he's not exactly sure how to ask permission for something he wants, or maybe not sure how to *want* something.]
he's grown up knowing only his family and maybe the occasional person he brings to island, but I think Richard is his first time experiencing real proper human connection, even if it is still tainted by his desire for distance from those that come to the island. and maybe also Richard's idyllic view of him as some sort of "higher being", with his sprinkle of religious guilt in there. i see you Richard.

Just a compilation of Charlie and Sawyer being adorable idiots.
Angst, fluff, and a whole lotta flirting. All of this takes place in it’s own AU, and I’ll be jumping between present-time (where the fan characters and AU storyline mostly exist) and past/show timeline stuff if that makes sense.
Also yeah this is basically a bunch of fics smashed together with references to each other sprinkled in sometimes
If there’s a continuation to one of them I’ll just call it “*insert title here* part 2” or something

HEART OF THE ISLAND
A m/m slash fanfic novel based upon the TV series 'Lost'
Survivors of a plane crash live on a mysteriously uncharted island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
“Will you love me, Sayid?” Jacob whispered, again bringing his lips to his, pressing into their ample softness, parting as their tongues touched and a connection of rippling fire claimed Sayid from within, his tongue and his body arching as the subtle beginning of the final contortions of loving, of spines arching and pleasure building with each moment of fire, and finding the source of that fire, the promise of ultimate union and pleasure.
Two brothers have served and protected the Island for many hundreds of years. One of the survivors, Sayid Jarrah, is fated to be possessed by them both; one through love, and the other through darkness.

Summary
Maya Ruíz-Zamarrón is a passenger on Oceanic 815. She was on her way back from Sydney where she had an internship at the University for scientific research. The flight crashes on a mysterious island and she survives with a few scratches. It soon becomes evident that nobody is coming to rescue her and the other survivors. She meets a mysterious man on the island who she realizes was not on the flight. She wonders if her encounter was even real, or if she made it all up inside her head. Eventually, she does meet him again, however.
Follows Lost (2004) tv show from the pilot to the finale, but focuses on Maya's story. Parts that are important on the show may be skipped because they are not relevant to her story, and other parts are new because they only pertain to Maya. I do not own any of the characters or concepts apart from the MC, Maya. This is a fanfiction, and eventual romance between Maya and Richard Alpert. They do not get together early, and hardly even interact in the beginning. Mostly just a story following the events of Lost with a new character. Also this is my first ever fic, so don't mind the sub-par technical abilities.

Summary
Ultra-introvert Cora is happiest when left alone, so she’s more than a little stressed to wake up surrounded by fictional strangers who worship her as an ancient island Goddess. Worse still is the discovery that she has the power to stop an impending island war by agreeing to an arranged marriage with a member of the enemy faction.
Enter Benjamin Linus: cunning, charming, and more than willing to marry a deity for a myriad of personal reasons. Ben would like nothing more than to ensure Cora properly meets her people, understands her new responsibilities as Goddess, and maybe—just maybe—gets to know the real Benjamin Linus. The only issue? Cora wishes to remain on Hydra island, alone. Their marriage is fake, after all. Isn’t it?
