"Maybe it was simply that he was here when the boy she had loved was not. Blue tended to his grave whenever possible, leaving him lilies or one time, a pair of her mother’s earrings.
“They’re Turkish eyes,” said Blue. “They’re supposed to protect you. But I feel kind of sick whenever I wear them. And since your grave doesn’t have protections on it, I thought you should have them. And Maura – I called my Mom by her first name, she always wanted me to feel like she was a peer – she’d want you to have them, I think. Because you're alone and she never thought anyone should be alone. And because you help me.” She’d smiled, and turned away from the grave, ready to head back home before it was too dark out.Now, Blue crouched in front of the statue. Not to pray, she hadn’t been raised to be religious. Just to wish. “I wish I was with you.” She let the tears fall finally, now that no one could see her, now that they would only mix with the rain.

What they tell you is that, fate is a fickle thing. So is magic, and so is love.
It's been a decade since Voldemort perished, freeing the Wizarding World of the evil. But when dementors appear on the school grounds out of nowhere, more questions arise. Is the world really safe? Adam Parrish wouldn't necessarily agree. Well, soon enough Adam Parrish and everybody else around him are thrown in this mess.
Fates are discovered and secrets revealed, so are hidden allies who want magic to thrive and dangerous foes who want the pure-blood families to reign supreme. And the old halls and psychics speak of a prophecy and another Chosen One, who equilibriates between the light and the dark. But what happens when the dark engulfs the light? What happens when the light goes out?
What they tell you is that, fate is a fickle thing. So is magic, and so is love. But what they don't tell you is that, they often clash and collide. And you have to let them.

At twenty-two, feet restless and mind yearning for more, he takes a position at The Barnes, a sprawling estate in Galway, as lush and green as the woods where he spent his childhood. His pupil is strange and her father, when finally he appears, stranger.
Adam has been poor and obscure all his life; he had hoped, with time, that he might resolve the first of these difficulties at least. What he had not planned for was the possibility of happiness, or its potential costs.

In all honesty, Noah Parrish-Lynch and Henry Minyard-Josten shouldn't be friends, Noah is loud, bright and a big nerd while Henry is quiet, not as bright and not as much as a nerd (ew). Noah is scared of losing people so he pulls them closer, Henry is scared of losing people so he pushes them away. Their friendship has a rocky start and Henry hates Noah, right? So then why does pushing Noah away feel different? Noah thinks Henry doesn't care about him, but is that really the case? What happens when feelings get involved?
