But what if Carol can actually find some happiness in the future along with Annie and the other orphans? If so, Great but in the middle of it a Dark Past is revealed, which almost kills both Annie and Carol. This Story is Rated M.

    Summary

1939. Annie helps Jewish children when Daddy Warbucks learns the U.S. won't. He says ok, his Childrens' Homes are integrating, but the news drives tough, hypervigilant Pepper toward a dangerous plan that could cost her her life. July mulls why she wasn't even given a name, but an orphan enters Warbucks Home for Girls - after they start taking in mistreated kids - who is nasty enough to remind the former orphans of Miss Hannigan.
Most chapters feature a flashback to the time with Miss Hannigan.
Violence only implied, so a preteen could read and have great discussions about things (as I would with family at that age), but it's scary enough that I rate it teens and up because some younger kids may be scared by some of the implications.

    Summary

Annie was adopted by relatives early in this AU. But she still inspires the other orphans thanks to her hit song, which she'll be singing on Bert Healy's show in July of 1933. Can she help get them out as the family goes to adopt Molly from a different orphanage?
Also shows the what-if of Annie knowing her parents are gone, except Warbucks would adopt Molly like in my AU "A Whole Different Ball7game." As Grace says in "Do You Want To Build A Snowman," Duffy was always really positive and loud. Annie was just bolder because she "knew her parents were somewhere." She likely still bugs Miss Hannigan, and may even manags to be taken just to get on Bert Healy's show the way Duffy does here. It's just that Warbucks would realize Miss Hannigan was up to no good and... well, you can fill in the rest, but the end would be very similar.

Annie Stacks learns her reading tutor's grandma was once in an orphanage. Her revealing stories fascinate and help Annie. Orphanage tales, "Tomorrow" origin from tough times, Molly being Molly(as kid & later), meeting before Jackie Robinson's first game, and an amazing revelation of the connection between Annie Stacks and the original.

    Summary

They say the quietest are often most cunning. Such is true of July. See the Quiet Orphan skillfully pick her battles and handle Miss Hannigan from Molly's arrival to months after they all get out when she again meets the one who dropped Molly off. Annie, 2.5 years younger, was her gifted student, but the oddity of Miss Hannigan suddenly saying Annie's parents had shown up is just one area July Knows Best.
Starts in 1931 at the orphanage, ends late in 1934..
Added Little Orphan Annie because others seem to. And they do draw the comics in my mind. And it's nice to see how she became a leader. 1982, because lots of others seem to.

So, I just wanted to do an Annie/Newsies crossover, this takes place after the strike but before Annie is adopted.
