The biting wind whipped around Killer's skull, the black liquid weeping from his empty sockets stinging his cheekbones. Duty was a cold mistress, but a necessary one. He adjusted the magically conjured muscle in his chest, the artificial weight a constant reminder of the task at hand. Around him, Dust shifted, his shorter frame a blur of controlled movement as he scanned the desolate landscape. Horror, a hulking shadow against the grey sky, remained silent, his single eye scanning across the landscape.
"Anything?" Killer rasped,
Dust shook his head, his face turned away from Killer "Nothing but scrub and whispers."
Whispers of revolution.
Horror suddenly stiffened, his massive hand rising and pointing to a faint figure. He tilts his head, his skull creaking softly like a door being scratched at. "Down there."
Killer followed Horror's point. A thin plume of smoke curled against the horizon. It was becoming more visible the more he looked, A campsite. A potential breeding ground for rebellion. His empty sockets burned with a phantom fire. He tightened his grip on the hilt of his conjured blade in his pouch,
"Let's remind them what happens to traitors," Killer voiced. The hunt had begun.

Following his mother’s unexpected suicide, Nightmare and his cousin Reaper are sent to a boarding school in New York by Gaster, a private investigator and close friend of their family, following the mysterious disappearance of his aunt Ren. The circumstances are odd enough, but when they discover the cryptic note she had left behind, urging them not to search for her, the two cousins suspect there’s more to Ren’s disappearance than meets the eye.
To make things even stranger, Nightmare begins having vivid dreams, revealing fragments of what he thought was the past, but turns out to be the future. In these visions, he discovers his mother’s hidden secret: he has a twin brother.
Alternatively, Reaper isn’t fully convinced by Gaster’s promise to search for his mother. Deep down, he believes that her disappearance is far more complex than they’ve been led to believe. Determined to uncover the truth, he resolves to investigate the mystery on his own, no matter what it takes.
As the duo prepare for the fresh start ahead, they must keep their double lives hidden from the high school world— where nothing is as it seems and everyone has something to hide.
