The old King claimed it was prophesied that a Dragon Bride would be born into the Royal family. If the Dragon gave the city and its people the eternal blessing of a Dragon, a powerful blessing thats believed to be a seal of protection and prosperity, then in return that Princess would be promised in marriage to the Black Dragon.
