After leaving both Istredd and Geralt in Aedd Gynvael (for different but equally valid reasons), Yennefer refocusses her attention on her quest to cure herself of the infertility that Aretuza subjected her to and make herself whole again. She gets a good tip on a promising lead, but, aggravatingly, the path from here to motherhood seems cursed to cross her exes'. She finds herself in the unenviable position of trying to determine whether to retrieve her heart's desire at the cost of her pride, or to go without but remain stubbornly inviolate.
Because that's the only two options, right?

And the way she attempts to say his foreign name, it does something to his body, something he doesn’t want to take ownership of. Her hair is still wet from the shower, she didn’t dry it, he watches as water drips from the strands and sully the white gown. He pries his eyes back to Her’s when the fabric becomes sheer. “You are unaware of how you arrived here correct?” she nods in response. -

Summary
In Wade’s absence, a prickly burning feeling had made its home in the cavity of Peter’s chest. It was especially bad on the slower nights, the nights where New York wasn't necessarily asleep– but instead half-awake, criminals were few and far in-between. Those are the nights Peter caught himself wishing Wade was taking up the space next to him, filling the silence they both seem vehemently allergic to.
Right now, in Peter’s cage of a bedroom, a pin could drop and ring like a gunshot.
