Legend is standing in a field. Grass stretches to the horizon in front of him, dotted here and there with broken or rusted weapons. Stars wheel overhead, faster than they should, contrasted by a stationary full moon hanging in the sky.
He turns, hoping to find some kind of landmark, and finds that he’s standing before a ruin. Bricks, with grass growing in the cracks between them, show the outline where the massive structure used to be. There are pillars lining the ruin, cracked and fallen and broken, though one or two still stand.
And in the very center stands a god.
Legend knows this is a dream. He knows that does not protect him.
He walks into the ruin.

Twilight, with a mirrored look of Hylia please end my suffering, repeated his statement. The words were... almost intelligible. They were right at the edge of Legend's understanding of Hylian, just different enough that he had to shove the syllables into some kind of sense.
"Guys?" Sky called from the other side of camp. "Any luck?"
"Twi's speaking in a really weird dialect, but I can mostly make sense of it," Legend reported. He was getting an ear for the differences, now. "You?"
Beside Sky, Wild rolled on the ground like a dog, whining.

Wind is Time's successor, and Twilight is his descendant. But Legend is also his descendant. He comes from the "defeated Hero" Timeline, where Time is defeated/dead. Malon was pregnant when it happened. And after a lot of time, the events of "A link to the past" happened + Legend's other adventures. Legend has figured out that Time was his ancestor and has mixed feeling about it.
