Sisko was not pleased to be woken up at 3 in the morning to hear a new plan. Much less by not one, but two versions of Julian, bug-eyed and talking at once, gesticulating and looking at each other as if they were the smartest beings on the ship. If one talked too much for his taste, with two he needed at least 3 raktajinos to endure.

Six months have passed after the surrender of Brockton Bay's warlord Skitter. The city is slowly recovering from series of catastrophes that many thought would put the Bay with Kyushu or Harare, in the pages of history. The portal to Earth Gimmel and the founding of New Brockton has attracted investments and people to an otherwise dead city.
Parahuman violence is at a historic low and the days of the ABB or the Empire 88 fighting are things of the past. While officially not mention, it is said that the new rulers of the city crime scene, the Undersiders, are responsible for maintaining peace in the city. Many are content with this newfound tranquility and gave up on dreaming of a city without parahuman gangs, accepting Tattletale's suzerainty.
As the Protectorate and the PRT are seemingly unable to stop or disturb their grip on the Bay, a group of six will step up to the challenge. They may not have Corona Pollentia but that's not gonna stop them from trying.

Carlos has been teaching Kindergarten for a few years now, but when the older brother of one of his students comes into his classroom for career day to talk about being a firefighter, Carlos finds it difficult to keep the lines between professional and personal clear. Maybe if TK weren't so gorgeous, or flirtatious, or confident, it would be easier for Carlos to ignore him. Then again, maybe if Mr. Reyes weren't so handsome, kind, and caring, TK would be able to get Carlos out of his head.
(TK is still a firefighter and the timing is a little different. TK and Owen have been in Austin longer, TK's little brother is 5 and lives in Austin with Gwyn, Owen, and TK. Carlos is a teacher and not a cop, pretty much everything else follows canon.)
