Summary
It has been seven years since Aubrey Reid dissapeared, and the court date to receive his death certificate is looming on the horizon. Jonathan Reid, his oldest and only surviving child, is set to receive his fortune, but something or someone seems dead set against it.
In an attempt to ensure her son's safety, Emelyne Reid hires a private bodyguard for Jonathan, a brusque Irishman named Geoffrey McCullum with demons of his own. However, as the clock winds down and the threats ramp up, things aren't quite what they seem. -

Edgar usually wouldn't have noticed a staff member acting unusually, but then again, he did have to admit that he kept a closer eye on the resident Ekon surgeon than his human subordinates. Not that he didn't trust Jonathan, per say, but more because his behavior was fascinating to observe.

"Do you know what the blood of King Arthur is?" Jonathan persisted, dancing around the question.
"You took it for you 'antidote', why don't you tell me, doctor." The hunter said sarcastically, his face still scrunched in a glare.

Jonathan didn't expect a lot of things after he became an Ekon, but finding out his pet plant is actually a living sentient being was definitely a new and bizarre outcome with a pleasant end result.
