When a meet-cute with Murdock turned into something more, you expected a normal relationship. Slowly, you're learning it's anything BUT normal- your boyfriend is The Man Without Fear. As much as you think walking him home will stop the bruises from appearing, there's something he has yet to tell you about who he is. And if you can put up with it all, maybe, just maybe, he'll stick around.
I'm basing this fic off the idea that based on his canon behavior he wouldn't be an *incredible* boyfriend. Like it or not, he's been shown to ditch important events for Devil work, didn't tell anyone what was going on until they found out the hard way, and let his friends think he was dead amongst other things. This will definitely have a mix of fluff and angst, so be prepared!

She sighed languidly, closing her eyes as he took hold of her in return, his hand trembling slightly. He promised her he wouldn't lie, he said he hadn't lied then, but she needed to know exactly how true what he was saying now was.
"Now repeat it."
"I'm sorry it ended like this," Matt said, his voice rising slightly. "There's nothing I regret more than that. And I'd like to fix it, but... I'm afraid that train is long gone."
"Is it though?"
"At least for now."
