I got inspired to make this au since I have been reading lots of Zane centered fics on Wattpad and AO3. Here's a quick summary, so basically this is a time fix-it situation. Zane dies in Starlight Wonderland because of Garroth stabbing him and gaining control too late. And now he has to restart season 1-6 with the memories of his past life, how will this story turn out?
(Alt summary) Zane has to navigate his way through a difficult journey that he has already experienced. Sure he knows what happens in the future, but he doesn't know what will happen now. Will he manage to survive this time? (He even makes new bonds and relationships!)

“But I know this place,” said Liza, her voice shaking. “I’ve been here before.”
“How is that possible?” Amy asked.
“I used to play with my dad on these stairs,” she whispered, gesturing to the grand staircase in front of them, cordoned off with caution tape. “We used to pretend we were cobblemice, scurrying up and down.” Liza turned to the Doctor, fearful and unsure. “What’s a cobblemouse?”
“They were rodent-like creatures which grew wings when they reached maturity,” a man’s voice said to their left, cutting through the din of the crowd. “Common household pests on Gallifrey.”
Liza turned to regard the speaker - a man with wild brown hair, wearing a brown pinstripe suit with a blue t-shirt underneath, and converse trainers. He stood tall, hands in his pockets, but all the same, he looked exhausted. Ill, even. All the air seemed to leave Liza’s lungs at once. When her voice finally came to her, it was choked.
“Dad?”

We should have given Faith a second chance, no matter how many reasons people have to hate her. She won't be the B-team Slayer here, either. She'll very directly be the Slayer. He stepped back and shoved his hands into his pockets if only to keep them to himself. “Well, then. Goodbye, Rose Tyler,” he said, repeating her name just for the sake of it. Just because he could.
Still smiling that soft smile, she said, “Goodbye, Doctor.”

Without speaking, Rose handed him the envelope. He regarded it for a moment, examining the outside and the invitation within. “This looks like trouble.”
“It’s gotta be from the Doctor,” Rose said.
“Oh, I have no doubt about it. This has ‘Doctor’ written all over it. Still looks like trouble.”
“I know,” Rose replied. “Which is why I think I need to go.”
