Summary
Peter’s an asshole when he’s drunk. He knows it. He leans too hard into the charm, forgets which jokes have razors underneath, treats people like mirrors and expects them not to crack. It’s not always intentional—he doesn’t mean to hurt anyone. But somewhere between the third glass and the bottom of the bottle, he stops being careful. Stops remembering which memories belong to him and which ones were left behind.
And Nebula… Nebula’s been catching the shrapnel lately. She’s the one still standing when the hangover comes. The one who doesn’t flinch when he slurs his way through a heartbreak he never learned to bury. The one who listens, who steadies him when he stumbles, who patches him up with those metal fingers like it doesn’t sting her every time he says Gamora like a prayer he’s still waiting to be answered.
Peter’s drunk and missing someone else. That’s the truth.

He is accused of working for Gaea and is punished with execution he is saved just in the nick of time by two people claiming to be Chaos and Order the creator. They give him her blessing and sets him out to create balance with the whole universe at his fingertips. he becomes a legend among the universe, one other's would not dare cross. In a time of boredom, he finds himself pursuing a bounty on a man by the name of Peter Quill with a sentient tree and racoon. Seeing the weapon in Quills possession he goes after it and drops the bounty on him. He then finds himself traveling halfway across the Galaxy looking to make a quick thousand Units for his new companions before stealing the orb back and heading to Order so they can lock it up for good.

And the fact you pretend I didn’t wake you up when I show up at three in the morning...”
“The fact I don’t complain about the fact the neighbours are starting to talk...?”
“Wait, what?” she frowns. Only catching up to the tone he said it in a second later. “Not funny, Warlock.”
“Oh, I know,” Adam tells her, just about managing to suppress a grin. Before remembering that it wasn’t just a thing to say to earn a tired smile. “But... Some of them actually might be. Apparently this is a little out of character for you.”
“What – stealing people’s food?” she sighs. Apparently deciding to let that be a problem for another day.
Not like gossip based on a complete misunderstanding of her actions was something it was in her power to... shoot until it stopped moving...? That being her usual approach to problems, anyway.
