Summary
He glanced over at his moons, who were now playing with the moons of Uranus- Triton, Nereid, Proteus, Larissa, Despina, Galatea, Naiad, Thalassa, Halimede, Sao, Laomedeia, Neso, Psamathe, Hippocamp, S/2002 N-5 and S/2021 N-1. All were accounted for.
"Neptune?" Uranus sounded even more worried too. Neptune looked at his feet, pulling his arms away from the other ice giant while his body tensed- why did Uranus need to sound so nice? It made him emotional and he didn't like that. Neptune was supposed to be smiley and giggly, not whatever was happening right now. So he got a little upset and imagined some things, was that so bad? The most useless planet who kept losing either his moons or his mind, why would anyone ever want to be near-
"Cousin?"
"..."
"...Oh, Neptune." Uranus' expression softened immensely when the other planet's eyes filled up with tears.
Or
If there is one thing Neptune doesn't forget, its his moons.
If there is one thing he does forget... is that his precious babies nor the other planets do not forget their love for him- no matter how forgetful he may be.

Summary
His orbit had never been this dark.
Or cold. Neptune shivered, pulling his hood up while hugging himself as he hesitantly looked around- usually, he would start seeing Sun more clearly by now. His orbit should be warming up again as the area cleared, and then once again, he would get to hang out with Uranus.
Only... his orbit hadn't stopped becoming darker. Or colder. At this point, the Sun had become a distant dot in the sky. He... couldn't see anyone- not Uranus, Jupiter, or Saturn. Nobody.
Okay. Maybe his orbit changed again. That's fine. The solar system was always changing. No reason to worry!
He giggled to himself
nervouslyand turned around- the Kuiper Belt looked closer than their star at this point. That... wasn't good, right? Wasn't that too far?No, no, it's fine. His orbit will go back to normal soon enough.
This isn't fine. Go back.
Or
How Neptune lost his mind in his orbit.
And how it affects him now.
He really wished he could remember more. If not for himself- for his moons, at least.

Summary
The couple seconds of absolute terror Neptune had felt when his moons all gathered in front of him, and he'd counted only fifteen.
Oh cosmos, the planet was sure his heart had actually stopped at that moment.
He'd counted once more. Twice. A third time, more panicked each time. And yet, the number stayed fifteen. His moons had panicked too, shifting and moving so much it was nearly impossible to get them to stay still long enough for a roll call.
Triton, Nereid, Proteus-
Proteus.
He was missing Proteus.
He'd almost lost it.
It was a good thing X noticed him though- the relief, even if short-lived, had been enough to hold his anger against the larger planet back. At least for a little bit.
Oh, his brave little star.
Or
The aftermath of the battle against Planet X, from Neptune's perspective.

Summary
Hands went up into his hair and yanked- harder and harder, as if the pain would shake him awake. His panic broke the quiet of his orbit, gasps and sobs going unheard. He wanted to run away. He wanted to run, to flee, to leave- to wake up.
To look away.
"Please." Neptune choked, collapsing on the ground. His entire being looked unstable and sickly- even if his gravity felt lighter now. He hated it. He absolutely hated it.
"I'm sorry. Come back" He pleaded through his cries. He hit his head with his fists, multiple times, trying to wake up. Wake up. Give me my moons back.
Give me my babies, and I will never leave my orbit again.
Wake up.
There was no waking.
Just the silence his moons would now never be able to fill.
Or
Neptune hadn't meant for his moons to get hurt.
